Shadowy PARTY OF ECONOMY Through the eyes of official statistics, EMPLOYERS AND POPULATION
More than half of the population and more than a third of employers believe that over the past three years there has been increasing the share of shadow economy, establish survey of the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria (BICA).
The data were presented at the roundtable organized jointly with the National Statistics Institute, entitled "Informal Economy in the new measurements and latest results, which NSI BICA and presented their independent of each other on research results for the share of informal economy in the country.
Investigation of the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria is conducted primarily through direct methods of measuring the informal economy, which - according to existing traditions across Europe - step on the analysis of subjective assessments and present among different social groups. Completed surveys are among employers and people with various qualitative methods - have held 281 house audit, 440 interviews with employers of the pilot branches, 7 focus groups. In parallel, BICA has used quantitative and representative methods - was conducted among a national sample survey population (1000 persons) and nationally representative survey of employers from all sectors (1000 persons). Currently being conducted nationally representative survey among employees.
Evidence suggests that as 53% of the population and 38% of the employers share of hidden economy in Bulgaria is growing. The relative share as its frequency of occurrence is 42% according to the minds of employers and 58% according to the minds of the population. Received by BICA results were compared with data from the National Statistical Institute. NSI submit official measurements of the informal sector in the EUROSTAT methodology based on the proportion of dootsenkite of gross value added and gross domestic product completeness of unsupervised economy, which are respectively 12.5% and 10.4% for 2008 ( Additional information is contained in the presentation of NIS: "The informal economy - how we measure the official statistics.)
Experts determined the meeting of the two approaches used by BICA and NSI, as the necessary basis for developing policies to curtail the informal economy. Objective condition and size of the informal sector determines the economic situation in the country within a common European economic space. In turn, perceptions and opinions of different social groups to informal economy affect business initiatives and behavior of the labor market. Thus, systematic and regular analysis of subjective assessments is essential to forecasting the economic environment and public finances, which itself determines the value of the study of BICA.
